There are so many different types of piercings and names for each piercing, it can be hard to keep up! Body piercing is a tradition that goes back thousands of years and it spans between multiple different cultures and communities. Piercing is a form of self-expression and there are so many piercings that people don’t know about! These piercings are absolutely adorable, and chances are, you haven’t heard of them!

The Septril Piercing “Jungle Piercing”

This is a piercing that is a bigger and more complex version of a septum piercing. To get a Septril piercing you have to have your septum pierced in the proper place. After the Septum piercing fully heals it is stretched to a higher gauge and then it is pierced again. The piercing goes through the bottom of the nose through the cartilage and it connects to the stretched septum piercing. This is not your everyday piercing and it is not suitable for everyone’s anatomy. You may not be able to get this piercing on a whim, but you will fall in love with this gorgeous and unique piercing. You are not going to see this piercing often; it is perfect if you are trying to stand out from the more common face piercings.

The Transverse Lobe Piercing

This is a piercing that will separate you from the rest, it is going to step up the ear-piercing game! The Transverse lobe piercing is when the bottom of the ear lone is pierced horizontally. This creates a longer piercing channel where a curved barbell is placed. The cool part of this piercing is that it doesn’t go through any cartilage, making it a piercing that doesn’t hurt as bad as a Septril or traditional cartilage piercing. The ends of the barbells can be customized to your style, you are not stuck with the “ball” ends. There are so many ways you can make this piercing completely unique with different types of metal, stones and colors.

The Vertical Industrial Piercing

A traditional Industrial Piercing is done at the top of the ear, connecting two cartilage piercings with a single bar. A vertical Industrial piercing can be pierced in a few different locations. One of these locations when you pierce the helix and conch. The other way this can be pierced is through the helix rook and conch. When it is pierced through the helix, rook and conch it is significantly harder to heal. The vertical industrial piercing is unusual, and you will not see many people rocking this piercing. This piercing needs to be performed by a reputable piercer who has completed this piercing and had clients who have successfully healed this piercing. You definitely want to check out your piercers portfolio before having this beauty done!

The Orbital Piercing

If you are looking for something, simple, sexy and sophisticated the orbital piercing is for you! This is a piercing most commonly placed on the helix. There are two piercings placed on the upper part of the helix and they are connected by a captive bead ring. Both helix piercings are performed in the same session as they need to be pierced at the perfect angle for the circular captive bead ring to sit without irritation. This piercing is known as an orbital piercing since it has an orbit-like appearance. It really is out of this world!

The Horizontal Eyebrow Piercing

This piercing is absolutely adorable, especially with the perfect CZ ends. This brings attention to your eyebrow in a brand-new way. Most people are familiar with the traditional eyebrow piercing that goes vertically through the eyebrow. The Horizontal piercing is much more exotic looking, and it is a surface piercing that is placed right above the eyebrow hairs. Your piercer may put this at an angle to help highlight your specific anatomy. This is a piercing that is meant to highlight your best features and bring attention to the eyes!
